There are many things that you can choose in life, but family is not one of them. Yet, it is the most important thing in life. The only place where you can truly be yourself is at home. Family is the birthplace of several different things. Each family is different from the other and has different goals, opinions and values. But one thing remains the same-family will forever be the most important thing in life.
Your family is the people with whom you will have your very first relationship. From the very first moments in life, infants depend entirely on their parents to provide them with love, security and the necessary life skills. This is where children learn, trust and communicate. Family teaches you all about loving relationships and they are the only people that will love you unconditionally. No one can love you more than they do!
You also learn about authority from your family. When you learn about authority at home, you will easily relate to it outside of the house. There are several different authority figures in our lives: parents, teachers…
Family is also important because this is where we learn our value as humans. How we are treated at home will shape us into who we will become in life. It also determines the way we see ourselves. If our family accepts us for who we are and encourage us to be the best that we can be, we will feel worthy.
With families, you can always be yourself. They accept you for who you are with all your flaws and mistakes; you are still perfect in their eyes! They are the only people that you can be yourself around without having to be concerned about being judged.
Family also provides you with a sense of belonging. When you are around family, you will always feel safe, cared for and loved and that is what every person desires. Family is the people that will always be by your side, even when you are at the worst times in your life.
Every family has imperfections, conflict and weakness. There will be days when things don’t seem to work out. There will be hardships. There will be tears. There is no such thing as a perfect family. There will be times when you fight, argue and have bad days, but one thing you can be sure of those will be the moments that you will remember the most, because that is what makes family stronger and bring them closer together.
